Yes. Vocab Fighter is free to play with no ads. Optional in-app purchases (gem packs and bundles) speed up collecting, but every language, word, boss and feature is playable without paying.
Which languages can I learn?
Japanese, English, Chinese (Mandarin), Italian, Spanish and French — over 6,800 words with native-speaker audio, organized into themed packs from animals and food to professions and travel.
How does the battle system work?
Every quiz answer is an attack: answering vocabulary questions correctly deals damage to the boss. Fast answers land critical hits, streaks build combos up to 3× damage, and a seven-element chart (fire, water, earth, wind, nature, dark, light) multiplies damage when your weapon counters the boss.
Does it actually help me remember words?
Yes — it uses spaced repetition (SRS). Each word is scheduled for review right before you'd forget it, at growing intervals from 1 to 30 days. Strong words graduate to listening questions where you recall them by ear, and every learned word permanently adds +1 ATK.
